“StadtWerkstatt Medien – Encounters in Dieburg”: Media Art Open Air Workshop on the Dieburg market square, on Saturday, December 2nd, from 9:00 to 14:00 o’clock.
Darmstadt/Dieburg- Saturday, 02.12.2023 from 9 to 14 o’clock. The students from the Master`s program International Media Cultural Work at the Media Campus of Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (h_da) invite people from Dieburg to join the workshop “StadtWerkstatt Medien”. Five media art workshops offer creative exploration of media on Dieburgs market square.
“Excuse me… Do you like cookies?” will invite people of Dieburg to engage in a dynamic rally on the market place, encouraging them in conversations on a deeper understanding of human expression. “Welcome to Germany – A matter of privileges?!” opens up a question of the immigration issue through a social media experiment. Inviting the participants to take a closer look at their masquerade. “How are you? Now, before and after” sheds light on the interaction between social expectations and the expression of emotions. “MemoryScape – Hidden Stories of Dieburg” sends participants on a journey of discovery through Dieburg’s colorful soundscape and the acoustic memories they awaken in them. Dieburgers are introduced to a hands-on real-life CAPTCHA in “Human! – Prove you’re not a robot”, where users navigate a tangible puzzle to authenticate their humanity.
These five workshops will develop media materials created by students in cooperation with the Dieburgers. They will be assembled into a “Social Sculpture”, exploring the impact of media art on social interactions, also fostering new forms of collaboration and community engagement.
The results will be showcased at Dieburg Museum Schloss Fechenbach on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th February, 2024 with the vernissage taking place on Friday 02. February 2024 at 18:30h. The exhibition is curated by Master’s students of International Media Cultural Work at Media Campus Dieburg.
