“StadtWerkstatt Medien – Encounters in Dieburg”: Winter media art exhibition of the Master’s program International Media Cultural Work (IMC), Hochschule Darmstadt from February 03 – 04. 2024. The Vernissage will take place on February 02. 2024 at 18:30h.
Dieburg Museum Schloss Fechenbach will host the Media Sculpture “StadtWerkstatt Medien” on February 03-04, 2024. The students from the Master`s program International Media Cultural Work at the Media Campus of Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (h_da) invite people from Dieburg to join the Exhibition”StadtWerkstatt Medien”, to collectively experience our media sculpture. The pieces contributing to the exhibited “media sculpture” are created and developed from the following media art workshops conducted on Dieburg Marketplace on December 02, 2023.
“Excuse me… Do you like cookies?” invited the people of Dieburg to participate in a lively rally at the market square, fostering participatory discussion to explore a deeper understanding of human expression. “Welcome to Germany – A matter of privileges?!” addressed immigration issues through a social media experiment, sparking dialogue and raising questions on societal privileges and complexities. “How are you? Now, before and after” explored the dynamics between social expectations and emotional expressions, inviting participants to examine their masks and delve into the nuances of human emotions. “MemoryScape – Hidden Stories of Dieburg” led participants on an auditory journey through Dieburg’s vibrant soundscape, unraveling hidden stories and triggering nostalgic acoustic memories. “Human! – Prove you’re not a robot” introduced Dieburgers to an interactive real-life CAPTCHA challenge, where users engaged with a tangible puzzle, exploring human authentication beyond digital realms.
The exhibition will showcase a unified and diverse form of the Joseph Beuys inspired “Social Sculpture”, obtained from the media content in collaboration with around 60 vistors of the market in Dieburg. This initiative examines the influence of media art on social interactions while exploring new areas of collaboration and community engagement.
The results will be presented at Museum Schloss Fechenbach, Dieburg, on Saturday, February 03 and Sunday, February 04. 2024, with the vernissage on Friday, February 02. 2024, at 18:30h.
